Party Origins & History

Party History

Organized People’s Party (OPP) was born purely out of cries of citizens wanting a brand-new vehicle that could rescue them from a political environment that had diverted significantly from their expectations. While the ruling party kept floundering, the opposition did not inspire either having been mired in constant confusion and bickering. A new vehicle was certainly needed by all measure. That’s when OPP was registered as a Special Purpose Political Party to be used by citizens to free themselves from the ongoing tyranny.

It was officially registered in September 2025

Vision

We envision a Zambia in which everyone enjoys unencumbered, human rights and fundamental freedoms based on equality, equity, with no discrimination. A Zambia where we all benefit from a broad sustainable and inclusive development agenda that transcends political lines and focuses on elevating Zambia to a first-world status within our lifetime.

Mission

To achieve our vision, the mission of OPP will be to liberate the citizens; and deliver the Zambia we want in our lifetime (prosperous, healthy and wealthy) through robust engagement, strengthening of our institutions, elimination of corruption, and creating a strong industrial base. This mission is based on the understanding that the next government is the last bastion of hope to reset and restart the journey to realizing the full potential that Zambia sits on. A country so endowed in resources, youthful vigor and energy, a land-linked country with a guaranteed market in the region. OPP is committed to realizing its vision through four foundational pillars aimed at resetting and transforming this country’s trajectory. These core principles will guide our country forward.

Leadership

We believe that what Zambia needs today and in its next government is not a messiah but a team of leaders that collectively present the best path for the Zambia we desire that will reset Zambia’s trajectory and correct all wrongs. This team will be diverse in its composition (gender, region, race) and its thoughts in order to create a team that will challenge itself, will inspire itself and will hold each other accountable to deliver the first world infrastructure that will attract commerce and trade making Zambia a hub for the 600m citizens in the region.

Our Vision

OPP envisions achieving the vision via the following four fundamentals critical to the reset and changing the trajectory we have been on.

Advance the best among us (Leadership).

Leading a country is a big task. This must be seen in the type and quality of leaders a political party presents to the people. As you will see, our leaders will be professional, qualified, high caliber individuals with good character, honest and trustworthy. When we don’t know, we shall say that we don’t know and ask for help. But this collection of highly competent and qualified Zambians will put their best foot forward to provide.

Return the constitution to the rightful owners.

Until 1969, our constitution belonged to the Zambians. It was then taken away and given to parliament. It has suffered adulteration since. We pledge to give back the constitution to the rightful owners, the Zambians. If the constitution needs amendments, the Zambians themselves will amend it as provided for in the constitution via a referendum.

Ownership of the economy.

Our economy or means of production must be owned by the Zambians. It will be our target to transition the economy from foreign hands to majority ownership by citizens over an agreed upon time. Only when citizens control the means of production can they be empowered and prosperous.

Dealing with Foreign entities.

Any foreign entity wanting to deal with Zambia, on any matter, will have to understand that Zambia will be the winner in all those conversations and transactions. Their returns is only a by-product of Zambia winning and not vice versa.
